Mahjong Scoring Guide: Maximize Your Points
Mahjong scoring varies across different versions, but one rule remains the same: the more strategic and complex your hand, the higher your score! Here’s how to maximize your points in Mahjongs Legends.
Basic Scoring Rules
🏆 Standard Win – Completing a basic winning hand earns 10 points.
🀄 Dragon or Wind Pong – Forming a Pong (three identical tiles) using dragon or wind tiles can score between 10-20 points, depending on the tile set.
🎨 Pure Suit Hand – If your entire hand consists of tiles from a single suit (e.g., all dots, characters, or bamboo), you earn a huge bonus of 40-80 points.
🤫 Hidden Hands – Special combinations, such as a hand made entirely of Pongs, can be worth 50+ points.
🎲 Self-Draw Win – If you win by drawing your own final tile instead of claiming a discard, your total score doubles (2x multiplier)!
Winning & Payouts
When a player successfully calls “Mahjong!”, all other players must contribute points based on the game’s rules. Scoring methods may vary, but the core principle is simple:
✅ The first player to complete a valid Mahjong hand wins the round.
✅ Opponents pay the winner based on the hand’s point value and difficulty.
✅ Some variations have bonus multipliers for special hands or rare moves.
